Hazard: The product presents a risk of electric shock and fire due to unsafe construction.

The product presents a serious risk of electric shock and a risk of fire as when tested the construction of the product was found to be unsafe as creepage and clearance distances are insufficient and AC supply wires can touch the accessible battery terminals in a single fault condition.

The product also failed a 3kV dielectric strength test. The product’s plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant standard (BS1363), the plug’s earth pin is sleeved, and no fuse is fitted (BS1362). The cross-section area of the supply cord is insufficient. Additionally, the product was not compliant with the marking requirements of the relevant standard and no instructions are provided.

The product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 or the Plugs & Sockets Safety Regulations 1994.
